Goldvreneli is a Jump’n’Run that I’ve created together with my fellow students Endre Banlaki, Sikharin Meier and Severin Brodmann. The player slips into the role of Aventia, a young shieldmaiden from switzerland. The game is heavily inspired by swiss mythologies and tales, as well as places. As Switzerland is my home country I wanted to share my love with its beautiful and creative tales and put my country in the spotlight.
The player begins their journey at the bottom of a tall mountain. Aventia has to climb to its peak in order to talk to the gods which live there. But the shieldmaiden has to hurry as a horrible curse is slowly turning her into gold. Only the demi-god Goban inside of the mountain can chisel the gold of her but the curse itself can only be lifted by the gods. The gold can also act as a defense from enemies but it can also slow you down. This creates an interesting dynamic playing style which changes depending on how many times you get hit.
